Celery

Our Quality Celery is grown from: mid June – December.
  • Celery is an excellent source of vitamin K.
  • Celery is a fat-free food.
  • Celery is very low in calories and carbohydrate.
  • Celery is also known for containing Potassium, Folate & Fibre.

All celery seeds are sowing and propagated on site in our nursery. They are then transplanted using two Ferrari 5 row fast-block transplanters for speed and accuracy.

Boom irrigation is provided to the crop using water from boreholes throughout its growing period.

To reduce handling of the product the, Celery is wash, cut and packed in the field using a field rig on tracks and an on board Red pack flo wrapping system.

  • Leeks are alliums, which are closely related to garlic and onions,
  • Leeks may lower blood sugar levels, protect your brain & fight infections.

Transplanting leeks starts at the beginning of April until July. They are transplanted using a 9 row Basrijs bare root planter for accuracy.

Harvesting and washing is done in the field with a mobile field pack house that runs on tracks.

  • Scallions naturally carry more plant-derived antioxidants.
  • Scallions contain a good proportion of vitamin-A.
  • Scallions also contain copper, iron, manganese, and calcium.

Sowing starts in March and weekly sowings take place until September, this give us continuity throughout the season.

The washing and packing is done in our pack house to our customers specification.

  • Scallions contain a good proportion of vitamin-A.
  • Scallions also contain copper, iron, manganese, and calcium.

Our Quality White Cabbage is grown from: August – March.
  • Cabbage contains many different antioxidants.
  • Cabbage contains powerful antioxidants that may help reduce inflammation.
  • Cabbage is fiber-rich & Helps Improve Digestion.
  • Cabbage is a potassium-rich food & may help lower high blood pressure.

Seeds are sowing into module tray and transplanted in May and June.

The cabbage crop is covered with a netting to stop aphids and birds damage, this also helps us to reduce insecticide inputs by 60%
